I think that would be the true sweet spot to having a lot of available real estate, decent resolution without the need foe excessive scaling and not having to strain to see everything vertically. If budget was no object, I would probably opt for a 38" ultrawide at 1600p. It's easy enough to use the remote control to turn the power back on, but if you have any other Vizio tv's nearby (which I do) they will turn on too. It will support the CEC power on command, but not many graphics cards will. Will go into power off mode when it loses an input signal (good) but doesn't come back on when the signal is restored.You definitely will want to mount this monitor as low as possible, looking down is easier than looking up. I was used to this with the side to side monitors, but this adds a vertical dimension to that. So far so good - text is extremely legible - it allows 4:4:4 chroma so no issues with blurred text even at native resolution and no scaling. Previously I was using a dual 24" monitor setup at 1920x1200 on each.
